Darya Kuchenova was born in 1989 in Khabarovsk. In 2008, she graduated from the Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory and then from the Moscow Conservatory itself (Professor Eduard Grach’s class) in 2015 followed by assistantship-internship there. She attended masterclasses in France and Israel and got a stipend from the Russian Performing Arts Foundation.
She is a laureate of the 14th Tikhon Khrennikov Violin Competition (2009), the Ludwig van Beethoven Competition in Czechia (2009), the North Violin Youth Competition in Yakutsk (2009), the Grand Prix winner of the A.K. Musakhodzhaeva Competition (Kazakhstan, 2010).
Since 2010, she has been the first violin of the Sforza Quartet.
In 2005-2013, she was a member of the Moskovia Chamber Orchestra led by Eduard Grach. Since 2014, she has been a member of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia.
She is teaching at the G.P. Vishnevskaya Music and Theater Art College.
